The Solution
M2 started by conducting a survey of JLT Group’s current print infrastructure. This ensured that any new devices would address their requirements.
M2 then developed a solution that addressed consolidation by introducing new equipment, centralised support and a bespoke scanning solution.
To consolidate devices, a new fleet of Multi-Function Devices (MFDs) and desktop printers were rolled out. Prior to appointing M2, JLT Group was operating approximately 470 devices across its offices in London. M2 was able to reduce the number of devices by 25 percent, by introducing a range of printers that specifically addressed JLT Group’s requirements.
As M2 is vendor independent, we’re able to supply software and equipment that is right for the job. We were therefore able to supply a range of devices from eight different vendors which were managed centrally.
We’ve also provided various software solutions that integrate with the equipment to provide new and innovate ways for JLT Group to save money.
For example, as the financial sector is regulated by the FCA, JLT requires a solution to lock-down data. M2 provided ‘Follow Me Print’ to ensure secure printing of confidential and important documents, which can be sent to print and collected at any MFD device. This ensures that documents only print when users authenticate their identity at a device.
The solution also enables JLT Group staff to print from handheld devices such as smartphones to facilitate a more agile workforce.
Having one supplier has also provided JLT with the benefits of improved centralised print support. M2 is able to handle all maintenance and support requests with dedicated on-site engineers who fix breakdowns and provide preventative maintenance.
Before JLT Group started working with M2, they were not able to add electronic documents to their document management system. As this is business critical, M2 developed a solution based around barcode scanning to ensure all electronic documents can be incorporated in to the system. A scan-to-folder backup option also provides peace of mind that all documents are scanned and saved.
M2 also provides free innovation days every year. As part of this, M2 Technical Architects spend time within JLT Group to understand their business needs further, and make recommendations about how to save more money.

JLT is quoted on the London Stock Exchange and employs over 6500 people worldwide, and through the JLT International Network provides services in more than 130 countries.
The group offers a distinctive choice to clients and partners through our combination of independence, scale and specialism.
In 2008, JLT Group identified that printing was costing the London office approximately £980,000 per annum.
The Group sought a print solution to reduce print expenditure, consolidate the number of devices, reduce the number of suppliers and update its print technology.
M2’s vendor independence was a key characteristic that stood out during the tender process, as we were chosen to provide a managed print solution which could reduce costs, and supply a range of equipment and software through one central point.
